Sorry, nope. Loves' only possible in Duality, which you two don't have, bub.

Oh, wait. That might be oversimplifying the huge range of human experience.

When is love not possible?

what is love?

and what is meant by the duality description: if there is such a thing as true love then it could probably only occur in relations of Duality?

I am probably very cynical, but I believe that love and passion are nothing more usually, than people's Duality Seeking function being stimulated for a longer time. How often they get it determines their relationship. That is why duals are togeher the longest and feel their relationship more satisfied. But I may be wrong and I hope I am so.

I'm entp and have had significant relationships with the following types :

ESTJ - 10 years+, not good and finished messily as you might expect. A planner and a plan destroyer. good combo. I was hooked, but I dunno about love.
INTP - intense due to apparent connection, but short term, got bored, we each decided the other was insane. note - I flip between ENTP-INTP sometimes and she did the same.
INFJ - current squeeze, objectively I connect better with this type than any other and we seem to fit exceptionally in terms of complimentary strengths and seeing the world in similar ways from different perspectives.

I read somewhere "ENTP falls in love when they feel there is a good fit". Perhaps you need to decide on what your definition of love is. ENTP feeling is pretty global (from personal observation).

Pfft. Love is always possible. I've seen relationships fail between duals and succeed between the most bizarre relations...putting too much stock in socionics is dangerous, IMO. I love it too, but you can't start running your life by it. My parents were duals and that relationship ended horribly, and now my ISTp father is very happy with an ISFj. The two of them are like two peas in a pod...love is always possible. If love were simply about typological compatibility, parents wouldn't love their kids so much. All relationships take work, a lot of it, and we might as well get used to it.

i am a entp currently dating an enfj....not to say i dont have my doughts but what entp doesnt....its been 8 months now and the relationship has been getting better and better....still am skeptical at times though....basically i wonder the same thing as you do....as my istj father says time tells all

ps what are your concerns....mine come from her needs of so many relaitonships, fear of her taking on the needs of others, and her constant need for love

Hello all,

I'm an INFJ dating an ENTP for 6 months now. I was friends with him for 1 year exactly before falling inlove and pursuing an intimate relationship. When we first met, we were infatuated with each other's company and flirted a whole lot with each other's natural comfort, but because of the polar opposites, we found each other like foreigners or aliens, and strongly wanted to distance from each other. That's how we be slowly became friends and then slowly, 1 year later, became lovers. I am honestly surprised everyday it is working out and it gets better and better,
