| If you know of any musicians or composers and are certain of their type (or at least almost certain), can you please tell me of them, for some research I am doing? If possible, could you also give or direct me to evidence of their type? Thanks. -- Simon the INFp |

A1 I like to think of Antonin Dvorak as an ISFj. He was a very steady kind of person, his music also is kind of calm and regular, he didn't speak much, was a deeply believing Catholic but expressed his faith by music rather than by words. He VIs like my ISFj father and he liked trains like my ISFj father. Even when he became the director of a New York music academy he liked to fetch himself beer in a jug from a local pub himself, like he used to do in the Czech country before, even though Americans were telling him to order his servant to do this (we were told this story at school and I loved it  ) - I read the biography of J.S.Bach and he seemed to me pretty ESFpish, quite similar to me in character, and both his wives looked like INTps. He also VIs like an ESFp. Also Elvis Presley seems to me like an ESFp and many socionics sites claim so. He is an extreme example of an ESFp, the kind of ESFp that doesn't know how to handle his life. And also Hank Williams Jr might be an ESFp, given his simple and cheerful image and music. - Simon and Garfunkel might be an INFj and an ESTj respectively, judging by their looks, the fragile beauty of Simon's songs (the most Fi songs I can imagine, lots of nature and morality reflection), Garfunkel's more practical attitude and the fact that my friends and relatives who admire them are all Delta quadra. - The songs of a Hungarian band called Misztral has sort of similar vibe, but you probably don't know them. They sing old Hungarian poems in a sort of medieval way and they're great, by the way. If you were interested the site is www.misztral.hu. - The Latvian band Brainstorm, or Prata Vetra, seems like composed of an ENFp lead singer and ISTp musicians. - And last but not least, ladies and gentlemen, I give you Mark Knopfler, the ENTj singer and guitarist, former lead singer of Dire Straits. My typing comes from the fact that my ISFj father adores him and understands his behaviour at concerts perfectly; that I get an Activity vibe from him and that he's a strong leader, but relies more on his huge imagination and perfectionism in guitar playing rather than on personal charisma or willpower. He perfectly suits the statement about ENTjs at socionika.lt, that "ENTjs don't want to be the first or the leaders, but they want to be better than others in what they do". -- Ezis (ESFp) |
