Category: ENFp ENTp T/F Typing Theory
I've taken many Jung tests and it says I'm ENFp, and sometimes ENTp but "thinking" and "feeling" are 50%-50%, or so. And it is quite accurate, about 95% both. However, I couldn't find some elements of my character I'm aware of, which I have found in ENTj and ENFj. Still, I find my self as ENFp and ENTp, so can I be the both types, because they both really suits me??? -- ENFp & ENTp...

A1 Well erm....i have the same problem at first. But then i came to realize i am different at work and socially. At work, i am an entp. Socially, i am an enfp. -- Anonymous
A2 ENFp(IEE) have Fi for a creative function while ENTp(ILE) have Ti for theirs. That means they have the others weakest function for their creative function, so you can't be both types as one will have a trait that you're vulnerable with rather than good at. If you look at the type function descriptions for Fi and Ti it might help you better figure out your type http://wikisocion.org/en/index.php?title=Fi -- An INFj
A3 What if you're equally good and bad at both? -- Anonymous
A4 Your being able to see many possibilities as to what you might be (an Ne ability), and (forgive my bluntness) your apparent inability to systematically eliminate possibilities until you arrive at a single answer (indicating weak Ti) lead me to suspect you are ENFp. That's my best guess given what you've told us. An analytical question: Which one of the following is more like you? 1) You easily generate logical systems and formulations to explain a set of phenomena that you have experienced or studied, and also find expressions of deep personal sentiments from either yourself or others awkward. OR 2) You feel frustrated or inadequate when people challenge your views and draw you into logical arguments and disputes, and also easily create a sense of closeness and kinship between people by expressing like and acceptance. -- Krig (INTj)

A5 The two types you've tested as match the two subtypes of Jung's extraverted intuitive type. They differ on which judging function is auxiliary and which is tertiary. Since there is less competition between auxiliary and tertiary functions than there is between dominant and inferior functions, it is sometimes harder to tell which is preferred. If you are truly one of these types, the way to settle the matter is to notice how you use thinking and feeling. You will normally use one for extraverting and one for introverting. Since your dominant function is extraverted, the judging function you use for introverting will be your auxiliary, and the other one will be your tertiary. So, if you favor extraverted feeling and introverted thinking, you would be an ENTp, and if you favor introverted feeling and extraverted thinking, you would be an ENFp. Another way to tell which of these you are is to look at your hidden agenda, which is related to your tertiary function. According to the article this site has on the subject, the hidden agenda for an ENTp is to be loved, and the hidden agenda for an ENFp is to know. -- Fergus Duniho
A6 I checked the link that was sent by An INFj and learned about the type function descriptions for Fi and Ti. However, Fi has creative function for ENFp and the explaination is all true in my case, but it is also true the explaination for Ti as creative function for ENTp. On the other hand, Fi for ENTp and Ti vo ENFp are considered as a "vulnerables" but in this case they are half true, which led me to something that the Anonymous from the first answer preluded, and Mr. Duniho explained. Although the ideas were different in their answers I concluded that the problem I am facing, plays the most important role when choosing how to explain it or solve it. Since I can not decide for the auxiliary function, which is introverted in my case, I recalled similar situations, which have been considered with both "extraverted feeling and introverted thinking, you would be an ENTp, and if you favor introverted feeling and extraverted thinking, you would be an ENFp.", as Mr.Duniho would say. So, my quest continues.. -- ENFp & ENTp...
A7 Mine too lol. Sometimes I think I'm more of an ENFp but then sometimes I think I'm more of an ENTp. I kinda gave up on trying to figure it out *shrugs* -- Anonymous
A8 If you're an ENTP you'd have Introverted Thinking and Extroverted Feeling, and if you're an ENFP you'd have Extroverted Thinking and Introverted Feeling. Both are interested in understanding the world and are very similar! Just think which of those you have. If you have Extroverted Thinking you're more likely wanting to be in charge of other people, if you have Introverted Thinking you're more likely to to keen on learning and gaining knowledge and if you have Introverted Feeling, in this case, you're more likely to be more sensitive to others feelings than Extroverted Feeling. Because Feeling is used more frequently in ENFp's than ENTp's. Hope that helps!! -- Hmmm!..
