Category: Intertype Relations Stereotype
Which intertype relation usually characterizes Platonic relationships? -- Anonymous
Your Answers: 1+
A1 I don't actually think that it is could be a kind of intertype, not depending on what particular types are in it. But I feel that two INxx types are more likely to have platonic relationship. -- Anonymous
A2 I'm an ISFj and my two best platonic friends are and ISTj and an INTj. So that's cooperation and super ego, right? -- Anonymous
A3 Usually Comparative, Quasi-Identical and Look-a-like. Probably since in these relationships neither person has anything to offer the other, nor would they come off as threatening. Mirrors and Identicals are generally platonic, too, since you would both have similar weaknesses in which case you can't really help the other, but they're still common enough for romantic relationships since they share Quadra Values, which makes people feel safe -- An INFj
A4 Having friends of opposite gender doesn't necessary means having Platonic relationship with them. There are many reasons why male and female stay "just friends". Also we should define what is genuine "platonic" relationship - just not having sex? Or not wanting to have sex? If not wanting, then why? Just finding each other sexually unattractive? Or maybe being so spiritually connected that sex is something not valuable? -- Cynic
A5 pretty deep A4 -- Anonymous
A6 I find that super ego generally tends to be platonic. -- Anonymous
A7 my buddy ESTP and i am ENFP..super platonic -- Anonymous
A8 I believe that a platonic relationship is a harmonious intertype with someone you are not physically sexually attracted to. So in this regard, it is physicality - not type - which accounts for the sexual coolness. Although, I could see two people of harmonious types - yet both thinkers or feelers - fall into a platonic category, too. -- Anonymous
A9 INFP & ENFP -- infp cat

A10 Mirrors can easily become intimate relations, yet they often don't last long, or tend to turbulence, disagreements, games, self-righteousness, etc. Perhaps Identity and Activation can be equally platonic (at least through time), if not moreso. -- Anonymous
