Question #1223508129 | Wednesday, 8-Oct-2008 |
If someone identifies with type descriptions of a particular type on MBTT, are they necessarily the same type on socionics? IE XXXX = XXXx. The functions on socionics make more sense, but the type descriptions seem to be talking about the same group of people on both systems. So i'm confused about how different the two systems are. What do you think? -- Anonymous |

A1 The descriptions for both theories are not radically different but there are differences if you really compare the two. One thing I noticed, for my own typing, is that the MBTI descriptions list a lot of traits that are more common in Ni types than Ne, like a deep connection to new-age/mysticism and foretelling the future, which is more INFp than INFj -- An INFj |
A2 the mbti and socionics type descriptions are almost always the same. just stick with socionics when it comes to functional analysis. -- Anonymous |
