Category: ESFp ESTp Stereotype Statistics
Is there any connection between type and socially deviant behavior? For instance, are ESFP females more likely to have illegitimate children and go on welfare? And are ESTP males more likely to experience chronic unemployment? -- INTj

A13 I'll admit as an ENFP I am very easily dared to do things. I have done stupid things just because I've been told to. You're right, that could potentially get us into trouble. We're impressionable, and that has both positive and negative effects. BUT: I think being 'fashionable' is more of an ESFP thing. ESFPs want to be liked for their outward persona. ENFPs just want to be liked, full stop - with all their weirdness. Plus, they are N types, so they're open minded and theoretical - their interests tend to reflect this. I've always had 'unfashionable' interests. A lot of ENFPs I've talked to are into all kinds of weird things, from battle re-enactment to early cinema. Our tastes are very personal to us, and we like them to be authentic. No offence to ESFPs, btw - but they are way more trendy than ENFPs. -- ingenuous ENFP
A14 IM AN ENFP! but sometimes i feel like something else when under stress...like introverted. cuz i really dont feel social at ALL when im under stress. its kinda bugging me. plus i feel like i dont know who i am under stress...kinda like right now. but im prtty sure 1ce im outta that "stress" ill go back 2 my normal ENFP jumpy playful etc... -- lala
A15 I'd say, no there is not any connection between type and socially deviant behavior, I think it is statistics. It is a question of socialisation, as well. (IMHO) -- Anonymous
A16 To me "Socially deviant behaviour" is almost impossible to define. It varies with country, culture, religion, age, sex just to name a few. Even within a family what is "deviant" is different seen by individual members. -- Vlad - INTj
A17 Sure. I think J types (espeacially FJs) are more concerned with following the rules/laws. -- Anonymous
A18 ESTps are generally responible for many of the anti-social behaviors expressed in society. Not all of them of course, but if an ESTp is not engrained with a good system to live by and interact with the world, they can easliy be sucked up into gangs(their family), and other deliquent behavior. It is vital to the ESTp child to have a good role model to base their systems on, or they have the potential for anti-social behavior. If the environment does not provide the role model the ESTp child needs he will be lost til they feel a connection with their weak Fe. This is where gangs gain attraction to the under provided ESTp males usually. Gangs provide a oath to watch each other and protect each other like a family usually does, but these boys usually have no father and don't feel protected by just the mother, so with offer of protection and the oath of the gang that everyone would die for the other, it is easy for the underserved ESTp to get caught up in these behaviors. Other types are not so swayed by the promises gangs offer. This is probably due to the fact that Se subtype ESTps are like warriors of the past. If the ESTp is not attracted to the armed forces, the next thing probably is going to be outlaw gang behavior. To sum this up, if a person is really into motorcycle and hood gangs, armed services, there is a great chance that the person is ESTp. -- Anonymous

A19 I'm very anti-mainstream and I'm an ENFP. It's got to the point where I'm finding most of my friends fake in what they do and how they act. I've always been very true to myself and conforming is something I have never done, which gets me into a lot of trouble at school - my head of year said I was the naughtiest student in our year. Mainstream just..it's so boring and everyone's a sheep. I've been called quite bohemian in my ways because I'm really anti bourgeois and I basically live for the theatre. I'm not sure but ENFP are meant to be highly induvidualistic right? So that would mean NOT conforming. As for peer pressure, maybe your mistaking it for something ENFPs actually want to do because I hate being told what to do. -- ENFP
