Permutations of Type
by I/O

I view type rather simplistically, like I would the characteristics of any other system. In a sense, we are constructed in a binary fashion.

The human psyche, both consciously and unconsciously, must acquire input and produce output in order to be considered sentient. Input is acquired through both sensate ...

C1 So given this model, Se would be sensory input taken in from information existing outside or not relative to oneself. Si would be sensory input relative to the viewpoint of oneself, in other words, the changes taken place in oneself that are physically observable from the self's point of view. I understand Se and Si given this model, but what about intuition? What information is being inputted? Doesn't intuition need sensory input? Furthermore I would not be able to give a good explanation of T and F with this model. Care to clarify/explain this to me? -- Anonymous
C2 C1, This article was not meant to describe a system per say but rather the areas that must be covered by any system in order to achieve equilibrium of the psyche. In other articles, I have tried to describe a system concept: Ni/Si is an input process where all new information is first compared with internal references and it is the difference that is processed. Ne/Se refers to raw input - non filtered, not compared and no internal biasing. N is information of a relative nature while S is information of an absolute nature; we sense both but pay attention to one over the other. T refers to output processes of an absolute nature while F refers to those of a relative nature; both are rationalization processes. Ti/Fi refers fixed internal ways of doing or looking at stuff (a plan) while Te/Fe are processes highly influenced by or originating from the external world. -- I/O
