Default the p's and the j's

It took me about three years to really think about and figure out whether I was a p or a j and after finally figuring out myself I've begun to turn to sorting out my friends....

In the break down of p or j traits, when I was slightly younger I could have taken or left both of them. Still to this day, if I read the bullet points provided on this site I think "Come on, I'm both!" but in the long run of what makes me tick and speaking to my brother who was introduced to this method a long time before me, I slowly figured out I'm a p via the deduction that my emotional and logical self are always squabbling but my materialistic and spiritual self are quite happy with each other....plus I'm far too disorganised to be a j!

In a recent conversation with my brother I told him that I had figured out that a friend of mine was a j and he said something rather interesting along the lines of "Oh j's... I just don't get them, they're a bit much."

Is there a slight conflict between p's and j's? Does the perceptive nature clash with the judgemental? I -think- I feel a better harmony with my p counterparts, but again I'm still working out which of my friends are which and why...

If anyone has any input, it may help to progress me further!

I use to jokingly and briefly describe someone close-minded or conventional as "judging" with my gf and some typing-aware friends. Of course, judging doesn't necessary means that, but it's more like an inclination perceived by me. I think the Rationals are more like "good citizen", conventional, punctual, limited in hobbies and things like this, compared to Irrationals.
