What is the difference between P and p and J and j. For instance I am INFP or am I INFp?

In that case you are both, because if you are one, you are also the other. The small "j" indicates that we are talking about Socionics instead of for example Myers-Briggs Type Theory (MBTT) or David Keirsey's theory, but that is only a difference in theoretical model, not in the groups of people we are talking about. The four dichotomies (scales) E/I, S/N, T/F, and J/P (or j/p) are basically the same in all three models, which means that the same kind of behaviours and attitudes are attributed to each type with the same "name".
