how come socionics istp says that the istp's first functions are introverted sensing and extroverted thinking, and the mbti istp's first functions are introverted thinking and extroverted sensing? i'm confused. can someone explain what's the difference? -- Anonymous |

A1 Because, to speak in short, MBTI is not the same as socionics. Socionics has two ways of denoting types but the first one, even it looks like MBTI, is not. When you try to convert MBTI to socionics, it might turn out that mbti ISTP is socionics ISTj. And good to remember also that introvert in mbti is not exactly the same as intratim in socionics. -- Anonymous |

A2 Cognitive processes don't have the same meaning in both systems. It's why a similar type "crafter" is TiSe in MBTT and SiTe in Socionics. However MBTT TiSe may also be another type yet in Socionics and vice versa SiTe in Socionics may also be another type yet in MBTT. For introverted types, particularly for IS-types, the correlation between both systems is very low, almost 0. -- piccolo_michel |
