Category: Functions Intuition Theory
What's the difference between Ni and Fi? I ask because there is an awful lot of confusion in the Q&A section about INFps ( ) and INFjs ( ). What makes it even more confusing, IMO, is that INFp's don't mind being described as INFjs, because it makes them seem more put-together and collected, and INFjs don't mind being described as INFps because it makes them seem more spontaneous and whimsical. I am sure, however, that there is a great deal of difference between Ni and Fi, and the superficial similarity comes from them both being INTROVERTED functions. INTps and ISFjs your input appreciated as well. -- Anonymous

A1 Ni is primarily concerned with ideas, and Fi with emotions. -- Anonymous
A2 I sense that many visiting this site have not typed themselves correctly. The INFp will normally guide themselves based on their knowledge and experience whereas the INFj will follow more of a life philosophy. The INFj will usually take a planned approach while the INFp will be very systematic in a ferret-like way. Their similarities revolve around their relative perceptions of life and their conviction of how right they feel they are. -- I/O
