Category: Duality ESTp INFp Relationship
Assume an ESTp was in a relationship (doesn't have to be romantic) with an INFp, and it ended. Does he realize the importance of the NiFe and if so, how does the loss if it affect him? I ask because NiFe doesn't seem to be valued in the world the ESTp lives in. On the other hand, SeTi, which he provides for the INFp, IS valued by the world at large, and its absence can be felt in a concrete, material way. NiFe is subjective and abstract, and since the ESTp isn't good at that anyway, does he notice when its gone? In other words, does duality affect the ESTp as much as the INFp? Answers from dominant SeTi appreciated. Thanks! -- Anonymous

A1 entj here, i have witnessed something like this and here is my observation: after the break-up the estp will keep doing what he used to, be as social as he used to be (even more shamelessly so) but he will not care as much, he might seem like he just going through the motions but will clutch dearly to the act of going through the motions. the infp will miss having someone escort them around public life, and will wonder why they can't do it by themselves. they will retreat from everything and wonder what they did wrong. so yes,if you were both very close, it will seem like the infp is more effected by this, but it is because they are dealing with it and not ignoring it. the estp is just ignoring it but it will blow up in their face. hope this helps -- Anonymous

A2 Thanks, A1...I have seen something similar as well. I wonder if duality is always lopsided, or if maturity has a lot to do with whether duality works...the ESTp in question is younger than me, and we are definitely not at the same levels of maturity - poster of question -- Anonymous
