A13 A11: I think your description fits immature ENFps more... I'd say it fits immature ENFps 100% and ESFps about 70%. The trouble with ESFps and "greasing the wheels of social interaction" versus "meaning what you say" is that we'd actually love to do both. Or at least the more mature of us would. But as our F is introverted, we're often unable to express the meaning or to communicate it well. So we try to "grease the wheels of social interaction" because then, when we feel the interaction is smooth, we're more able to be straightforward and meaningful. Also when we create a good atmopshere, we're more likely to hear someone else say something straightforward and meaningful. And if we're mature, we're genuinely interested in what people say. I actually hate it when someone just keeps trying to grease the wheels of interaction and doesn't switch to a meaningful conversation. And it's so not true that it doesn't matter to us what we say and what the others say. It looks like that, but the total opposite is true - we remember what everybody said (sometimes word for word and ponder on it for years) and even small talk can speak volumes to us. But, again, because our feeling is introverted, we usually don't communicate that. One of our worst fears is that someone will interpret our being cheerful and playful as being shallow, and one of our greatest joys is finding someone who sees the meaning behind it and responds by being serious, honest and meaningful. -- ESFp |
