A lot is said about the E/I dichotomy, that it isn't directly related to whether or not someone is social or not. But are there certain types who are naturally less social than others? Or the opposite, types which can be very different socially? -- vinegar |

A1 While the E/I dichotomy is only related to the preference to "initiate" contacts or to "respond" to contacts, T-types are usually less social than F-types as they are more interested in "things" or "ideas" than in "people". Once a "contact" is made extraverts and introverts are almost equally social, the difference being only the kind of group or activity they enjoy according to the quadra they belong to, the kind of interests they have or their education. It's however true people are more or less shy but it doesn't have a relation with the type or the E/I dichotomy -- piccolo_michel |
A2 yeah introverts aren't necessarily shy. ie comedian Adam Sandler and Tom Green are INFp's. -- Anonymous |
