Are T types more likely to prefer being protective rather than nurturing and are F types more likely to be nurturing than protective for their loved ones regardless of gender? -- Anonymous |

A1 Not really. Socionics deals with more than one function of Thinking/Logic and Feeling/Ethics. The logical "T" functions in Socionics have nothing to do with being protective, nor do the Ethical/Feeling functions. Protective and nurturing are quite subjective, anyways, so what one type considers protective or nurturing may be viewed as insulting to another. Although I would say the more stereotypical definition of protective would likely be common in Sensory types. Se (Extroverted Sensing) types ESTp, ISTj, ISFj and ESFp have a more outward, confident, form of protectiveness that enables people. Si (Introverted Sensing) types ESTj, ISTp, ESFj and ISFp have a more maternal form of protectiveness that's centered around taking care of the needs of people such as their comfort and health. Intuitive protectiveness stems more from an internal/psychological form, such as giving others insight/advice, emotional comfort, etc -- An INFj |
