What are ESTps like in your opinion? How do interactions with them go? Problems? Why are they annoying? Why are they not annoying? ect... -- ESTp
Your Answers: 1+ 10+ 21+
A21 Well that sounds sweet, that you became a human being. NB: ESTp's are arrogant and self centred even after being challenged. -- S
A22 All the ESTps I know are very agressive when they are interested in someone in the way they pursue that person, at least for men. And they are definitely very self-confident and very competitive and all do somekind of sports. It seems likes competition is really motivating for them whether it's getting that bonus and making that sale, or winning a game. Cocky is a good word. It makes charismatic too. -- Anonymous
A23 I've been recently dating an ESTP and I'm an INFP...I have to say, I have had a bad feeling in my gut about this guy for the entire 6 months, he doesn't "lie" but just doesn't tell the whole truth, and everything is a competition with him, which is so against my hippie style...anyway, whenever I try to break things off with him, he cries...Now my question is, is that manipulative? like is he pretending to cry just as a game? this forum is tripping me out, making me think this guy is sick or something! ive never been so confused about a guy because he acts so damn SWEET sometimes! -- Anonymous
A24 I recently came across one of these "ESTP" types. He installed internet to my house. It was like a ball of string of lies unraveling at 200 mph. He asked me the most innappropriate questions like if I smoked weed and even meth at one point. Meanwhile he told me these extravagant stories about how he gave the heimlich maneuver to a Japanese besiness CEO in a San Francisco resturaunt that he learned how to do earlier that week, and that was why he had to catch a private plane to Jamaica in the next 30 minutes, and wouldn't be able to finish installing my internet. (I am serious people.) BTW the Japanese CEO Takanawa was so grateful that he flies him where ever he wants on his private jet once a year and they've been close friends ever since. When I called him to ask why he didn't come to install internet two days earlier or even return my phone call to his direct cell phone, he replied with "WAIT A MINUTE. ARE YOU TELLING ME THAT NO TECHNICIAN CAME TO INSTALL INTERNET, OR EVEN CALLED YOU? Calls like this seriously make me want to go back to be a technician because they are so unreliable." This is when he announced he just directs calls and he was going to have his manager call me. All lies. "Did my manager call you?... No?!! *suprise suprise* and then he said "I'm going to do it myself then! Pick any time tomorrow and I WILL BE THERE!" *Obviously he wasn't remembering how he needed to make it to Jamaica at 11:30am the next day* Anyway. I've only met one other ESTP and he didn't make up a bunch of lies like the internet guy, but he did like to scam people into thinking they broke things at the ice skating rink we worked at that were already half broken so we could get their $20 deposit. Sleezy! I also know an ESTP girl who started doing meth at age 14 and then would go to meet wealthy guys in their hotel room and then when they opened the door a bunch of guys would break in and they would rob the guy. I would have to say the compulsivve liar guy was annoying, and so was the ice rink guy, but for other reasons than lieing. He liked to tell everyone how to do their job. -- Anonymous
A25 I dated an ESTp once, he was very charming. He liked to make up stories, like that Ronald McDonald was forming conspiracies against him since he was a young boy, and mind controlling him to make him buy more of the food at McDonald's. Entertaining his girlfriend seemed very important to him. His mom was murdered on his 15th birthday, his dad was killed in a motorcycle accident when he was 17 and his 12 year old sister attempted suicide shortly after that. But he uses comedy and makes other people laugh to make himself feel better. Eventually our relationship ended because he was very unstable and got into drugs and alcohol, and wouldn't let me help him no matter how much I tried. Other ESTps I've met are similar, charming and humorous. I'd say our interaction goes well, they like to be the center of attention and INFps can give them their undivided attention. They can make you feel special, somehow. Annoyances.. hmm.. my only problem, with the one I dated, was that I always wanted to be closer and he tended to push me away the more I wanted it. But as only friends every ESTp I've met I've found really fun to hang out with. -- INFp
A26 I've met several ESTps, one was self-confident to the point of being unpleasant and arrogant, others are OK. Some of them are self-centred, some not, one likes to make up stories, but all of them are nice, calm, frank, honest and hard-working. Two of them are pastors and one of them is a very good pastor whom I really admire. "Why are they annoying?" Most ESTps I know aren't. Our relationships aren't especially good because of our need of free operation area which the other intrudes on, plus my sensitivity (in their eyes) and their lack of imagination and of sense of beauty (in my eyes) but I guess we all know that's just points of view and we respect one another and when it comes to co-operation we make a good team. Well, for a short time, as patience isn't our forte -- Ezis (ESFp)
A27 All temperaments are a design of nature. We are out of whack, as a human race. The ESTP is necessary to protect the community, along with some other possibly male dominated types. In a natural setting, we would play out our temperaments as mother nature had intended. I am an ENFP female and know that it is my duty to facilitate harmony and champion for causes. Just as an ENTJ reigns supreme as a judge and top leader. The ESTP is a challenge for more emotional types, but they are designed perfectly for the roles they must carry out. Why do you suppose they are so well suited to be cops, firefighters, lawyers and athletes? As an ENFP, and a fairly healthy one, I've never met too many ESTPs who could tolerate me for long, unless I try to speak their language. This includes my father, brother and nephew. It just is what it is. Thank you ESTPs, for all that you do to take action to protect the community. (And sorry to all those ESTPs who are over represented in the penal system.) -- Renee

A29 Type defines data processing preferences. Perception of good or evil, weird or straight laced, likeable or not likeable are more functions of up-bringing, learned values, environment and body chemistry of the observer and the person being observed. Type starts out being a blank slate. It can be used explain how one made choices and got to where one is given what that person was subjected to over the course of his or her life. However, past behaviour is the best indicator of future behaviour so take the time to investigate the person of interest. -- Anonymous
