hey- so, I'm curious: I've been doing some digging in Keirsey's "Please Understand Me II", and he recommends the INTP/ENFJ, ENTP/INFJ, INTJ/ENFP, and ENTJ/INFP pairing. Being an Idealist myself, I'm not sure I agree with this. I find myself attracted to Rationals, but idk about forever. What does Socionics say about this? I'm pretty confused. Thanks!! -- Pondering |

A1 Socionics and MBTI disagree on a fundamental level when it comes to inter-type relations. Socionics' more accurate typing system allows for a more robust description of inter-type relationships. See this link for more details: http://www.socionics.com/rel/rel.htm And a more technical description here: http://wikisocion.org/en/index.php?title=Intertype_relations -- Krig (INTj) |

A2 Like the devil's advocate I am I must note that while it's true that Socionics has a more detailed and specific system, MBTI doesn't, which kind of obscures the translation by things such as this theory by Keirsey. I prefer Socionics' system compared to Keirsey's opinion however because it is much more reasoned and detailed within its system, unlike Keirsey's opinion which is very much not. -- Anonymous |
