I am trying to figure out my Socionics type. I thought that I might be INFj, but I am lousy at housework and maintaining a checkbook. My primary question is whether Fe or Fi is dominant. I will stop my car to help someone whose groceries have spilled onto the sidewalk. However, I almost always regret long-term commitments to volunteer with at-risk or low-income individuals because I feel unappreciated. Every review/reference my supervisors or teachers have written says the same thing - quiet, conscientious, team player, hard worker. I have always gravitated toward jobs that require extensive writing skills. Some people say that I am socially backward (generally in social situations) others say I have incredible people skills(generally in purely professional contexts). Can anyone help me with some insight on Fi and Fe, please? Thanks. -- Anonymous |

A1 you sound like you might be an INFp. -- Anonymous |
A2 Do you act happy or sad so that others can feel happy or sad (Fe) OR do you act happy or sad because internally you feel happy or sad (Fi)? Not saying you can't do either, but which do you frequently find yourself doing more of? I know what I've written is somewhat simplistic, but that, I believe is really the gist of it. -- someone with leading Fi |
A3 Thanks - that is helpful...definitely Fe -- Anonymous |
A4 Yeah, INFps have good people skills in professional contexts. My suggestion is determining your Dual - whether you feel better around self-confident, a bit unpredictable and a bit aggressive people (ESTps), or around organized, polite and caregiving people (ESTjs). -- Ezis (ESFp) |
A5 Do you more often try to manipulate others ( ) or do you more often try to understand others ( )? Do you more often think about what you could do ( ) or do you more often think about what might happen ( ) ? -- INTj |
A6 Maybe I'm ISFP -- Anonymous |
A7 I am INFj and my mom is INFp. I am generally calmer and don't enjoy emotional outbursts, while my mom can be very demonstrative with her emotions and she often influences others emotions as well. I am more likely to identify with others emotions and actually confuse them with my own emotions, and I rarely push my own emotions on others. I feel we are both capable of manipulating the emotional atmosphere, but I do it more subtly while she does it more openly. Also, just because you are lousy at housework and can't maintain a checkbook doesn't mean you can't be INFj. I don't really enjoy either of those activities either. I think they are mutual weaknesses of both INFj and INFp's. But on the other hand, i don't know if I've ever met an INFj who would be considered socially backward, although I guess that could be more related to environmental factors than type. INFj generally appear socially confident, however (at least females do, i don't think i have met any males!!). -- Anonymous |

A8 For starters, INFPs use socializing as their defense mechanism, whereas INFJs are avoidant. -- Anonymous |
