Category: INFj ISTj Relationship
I am an INFJ. I believe that my love is an ISTJ and we have been in love with each other for more than 9 years. We were not free at the same time until very recently and I am very hopeful that we will finally be able to get together and marry. We feel that we are soulmates, however the relationship indicator on this site says that the match is a Super-Ego and not ideal. The way our match feels is very much like the Relationship of Duality. How can this be? Can anyone help? ma -- Marni

A1 It is very possible that he could be introverted or shy ESTj and you think he is ISTj because of that. That's one explanation. -- Anonymous
A2 You probably mistyped yourself or him, or both. Maybe you should look up information on the different quandras, since INFJ's are part of the Delta quandra (INFJ, ENFP, ESTJ, ISTP) while ISTJ's are part of the Beta quandra, Delta's conflicting quandra (ISTJ, ESTP, ENFJ, INFP) -- Anonymous
A3 i don't think love is bound by personality type. rather i think personality type should help bring understanding to a relationship's compatibility. -- Anonymous
A4 I totally agree with A3. -- Maggie
A5 I also agree with A3. -- Anonymous
A6 Socionics is not a natural law. Most couples I know are not duals, so it's not like that's the only way to be happy. I find that people naturally go for people who think very similarly, often only one letter off from themselves. An NF and an ST is a great combo, because you think differently, but you're still similar enough to understand each other since your both IJ. -- Anonymous

A7 The site says that the ISTJ INFJ relationship is Super-Ego. Due to lack of understanding there is an increased chance of arguements. But all realtionships will have arguements. When two people really love each other and are committed to each other I believe that they can overcome this. Being an ISTJ myself I actually find INFJ's to be a very attractive personality and probably the most prefered in my experiences with them. -- Jeff
