Category: Typing Celebrities
Which type was Kurt Cobain? I am mostly curious in terms of functions. -- Anonymous
Your Answers: 1+
A1 Initially I thought ENTj - but now I'm thinking INTj, believe it or not. Just a guess, it's very difficult to tell since he was a private person and had so many personal difficulties. His facial features and demeanor remind me of Duff McKagan (formerly of Guns N Roses), although I am not currently able to type Duff. -- econdude
A2 Definitely an INTP. -- Anonymous
A3 Definitely an Entp -- Anonymous
A4 Would he not be an IxFp? -- Anonymous
A5 I think INFp is a better guess (referring back to my other guess in A1), but it definitely deserves a more thorough study on my part. I cannot tell for sure just by browsing pictures. -- econdude
A6 Very hard to tell for sure, as you say - I would think somewhere between INFp with a well developed T, and INTp with a well developed F. I guess pictures would tend to the side of INTp, but it seems hard to believe he wasn't an F type. -- Anonymous
A7 I think he was an INFP. I`m really he sure he was an Ixfp. But he was so good at expressing himself and a great lyricist. And most INFPs have a gift with words. I recently saw a documentary about him. Michael Stipe said that he was so sensitive and fragile(definitely a F), and a private person. -- Mariela
A8 I'm also going with INFP, especially after seeing some pics from his youth prior to his depression -- Anonymous
A9 I'd say you can't simply type someone who had severe health and even mental health problems. As there is the question whether a "bad childhood" is distorting the proper development of ones personality type. May he rest in peace, I didn't know him, but how much does a performance have to do with the actual personality type? I am an INFp, a musician, sometimes even managing to go ESFp-overboard on stage All my lyrics are bad-mooded-isfj, which often annoys me, but helps me to vent. -- Anonymous
A10 what u guys should really ask yourselves is how he made such a lyrical wave of music. really in the music world...there is no continuance of his style... its like the brilliance of 2pac, rhymes which flow up and down and integrate seemlessly.. but Kurts bril is different...don't know hav not listened recently...but theres always Radiohead now -- @sirac
A11 INFp. -- Anonymous
A12 Sirac, what are you smoking and where can i get my hands on it? I'd love to understand what your posts mean. -- Anonymous
A13 find mechanical solutions to ****,..when u read theory, apply what u have discerned through mechanical work-out to what is being said..(relativity of ****)..u will then solidify.. u may then smoke anything.. your mind will work like a computer. On the post..is it not true, that there is no continuation of Kurts style? But it is like that with all genius. Music producers replicate a style set...but then the music has pretence to it...(an 'easiest example' to understand is the following'.. most mordern R&B-Beyoncay,Christina-is kak, whereas a genius such as 2pac had rhyme sets, and in production they could mix lines in with one another, and the voice would complement the mix-over lines at any point...M&M is also lesser, cause his lines are straight sets..in Rock, relative to Nirvana..u get Foo-fighters, also lesser, cause again, it is a more 'straight' voice...Queens of the Stone Age, has a niche set, cause it is a low tone voice with electronic rock...but Nirvana remains a cornerstone because of straight Emotive content...if one comes down to a unique such as Radiohead..one again finds a cornerstone..most people did not like the fully electronic Hail to the Thief album, cause it had apparently to-much electronic..but what critics did not realize is that this was an evolution on there greatest sounds such as spinning plates and the pyrimid song..and that songs such as Myxomatosis and Where I End and You Begin where marks of perfection..the first in a forward 'crunch song' and the latter in a 'reverse crunch song'..i only use the word crunch because i know of no suitable word with which to define it)....also, i have to agree with the INFP on Kurt..it's most probable -- @sirac
A14 oh, would i be right if i said, that to N's music with alternating tone...esp. to INTPs and INFPs, music or voice with alternating tone and change of intensity and focus with alternating tone is the most appreciated. Kurt altered his tone to acheive affects in song. Damn, if this is known, why don't they...the damn Musical Industry NOT cater for us more -- @sirac

A15 Success! I agree with something sirac wrote. (A14) -- Anonymous
A16 definitely INFP.. why so many T guesses? He was totally not rational. He was raw emotion. -- Anonymous
A17 Kurt Cobain - ENFJ, trapped in disappointment, failure, depression, guilt, Aggrieved Pattern, long-suffering, naive, Influential etc. -- jgbr
A18 Read "Heavier than Heaven". Te Polr without any doubt. Didn't know that the camera had a battery. Very inconstant behaviour. Today he could be entertaining, joking a lot, tommorow he could be withdrawn and depressed. Aware how he is seen by others. Sometimes posing or adding some colors to his stories. INFp Fe subtype. -- Asfd
A19 INFp Ni subtype imo. -- Anonymous
A20 INFp Fe sub -- Anonymous
