Category: Tests
What is your take on other personality tests? They seem to be widespread with employers these days but in my experience they have given results similar to my type but they don't seem either socionic or MBTI (my experience is those I have sat myself and been given the results) ? -- ISTp

A1 i think they are fitted by professional companies, that remove the actual association names, for market value. The actual test results should be used by a strategic team, who uses the results to re-organize YOUR Companies system. But seemingly as this never happens, it is used in the 'company convention way'...an adequate break for employees... really the wrong way to use it, for my one friend saw the test as a way to re-inforce the status quo (even though i told him he was using an initial perception, true in the greater scheme, to pass judgement and make the whole exercise of no effect). This site, is a 'spreader site' for socionics, but it's actual utility is for 'life strategy management and refinement'..minimization of real and preceived conflicts, and a reducement of stress, for an individual can reduce stress by recognizing 'intrinsic motor reactions to situation'... and a few others, but really it has to be about the individual, then only will companies really benefit if they had the proper contextual vision - . -- @sirac
A2 True..on mine we spent two hours discussing the results..ie is this you, but no steps to work on or utilise various components. Its just filed away it seems - what was the point not utilised to its true potential. You would think the companies supplying the test would follow up as part of market strategy to have on going work such as intertype relations and self dev..Money to be made there.. -- ISTp
A3 I worked for a company that put the entire work force through MBTI seminars, and after we took tests & "received" our type, then we went through exercises that mixed us up & asked us to interact according to intertype dynamics. Afterwards they distributed a chart with everyone's name on it & encouraged us to put our type out on our desks (some of the execs had their secretaries make "XXXX spoken here" placards to go next to their name/title placards). It was kinda fun, sorta silly, and I'm not sure how effective it was in the long term. So, I'm not sorry I did it, but I'm not certain the company got their money's worth, either. -- iAnnAu
