Category: ENTp Stereotype
Are ENTPs the most narcissistic Myers-Briggs type? -- anon
Your Answers: 1+ 33+ 42+ 52+
A52 About the original question, I don't think it's necessarily so. For some of us, finding out about this was SUCH a relief as we've been told that something was wrong with us our entire life which we 'know' not to be true. THen, come to find out, there's a good side to all this. Our unpredictability, impulsiveness and lack of follow through makes us great at initiating new things and makes us creative. Who'da thunk? -- --jess
A53 @it can be wrong, we have proof that N types are prone to being narcissistic as you argue N's superiority without actually proving it with any logic. ps, you offer no "theory" either. -- xstp
A54 it just seems that entp has every function there where it should be:P I know an entp with apparently well developed S and F ...because she's so interested in self developement and anything entp is interested in they do it best... so 'in spite of' being a great and visionary female architect...yes she can cook and dance...better than 'mere mortality' cause she s also interested in cooking and dancing cheers you all -- Anonymous
A55 So shall all humans eventually evolve into ENTP's? Are they the superior race so to speak? If that isn't narcissistic or maybe just egotistic! INTp -- Anonymous
A56 As an ENTp, I often feel like I'm blessed with the ability to do absolutely anything I can dream of. But in the same breath, I would argue that ENTps, as a by-product of spending so much time internalizing their thoughts, spend a lot of time analyzing their own short-comings. The reason why ENTps do things so well, as A54 said, is that we recognize our short-comings and refuse to accept them. Therefore one could say that we are narcissistic in our desire to never have short-comings. Also consider that ENTps know that they're fairly unfeeling in most tasks. As an ENTp female, I find that a rather bothersome by-product of my type. I mean sure, I can charm my way into the hearts of countless men, but I can never take it farther because I have a serious handicap in the Se department. I think ENTp females everywhere will bemoan this fact. Unless they're cut-throat, then I suppose they might become the narcissist after all. As for the S vs N argument, I think both sides are being rather foolish. S and N are just different ways of looking at things. N, consider that S has the advantage in their ability to see details and collect them like pieces of a puzzle. Without their drive for concrete gratification, we Ns would probably be eaten by bears while we dream or be too busy looking at the big picture to enjoy life in the physical realm. S, don't forget that N has the ability to put pieces together and find order out of chaos. Ns foresight and need to rationalize help tie up loose ends and drive innovation. Why do you think that duals are pairs with one S and one N? Separate they can only run on one track, but together they can carve a path to wherever they want. -- Anonymous
A57 I think ISFP's are the most narcissistic. They consider themselves "artists" and therefore more creative than anyone else on the planet, but may not have any talent. In my experience, they are sensitive to their own needs and feelings, but not very concerned with others. -- ENTP
A58 A57, interesting, i've met a few ISFp's like that. Do you think that suits the ENTp? -- Westie
A59 I've definatly been told that I have a lot of self confidense but as an ENTP i wouldn't say that i was narcissistic. I can see an ESTP being slightly more so. -- Anonymous

A62 ENTPs' form of Narcissism is most often linked to Compensatory Narcissism according to what I'd read/learned in college psychology classes. I'm inclined to think ESTP is the type that most often embraces/embodies "true" narcissism. -- Soc INTj, MBTI INTP, SLOAN rcoei, Enne 5w4
A63 Interesting accumulation of various speculations, this have been. Back to reshuffle and consolidate prejudgements ENTp -- Anonymous

A64 A56:>>Without their drive for concrete gratification, we Ns would probably be eaten by bears while we dream or be too busy looking at the big picture to enjoy life in the physical realm<< No we won't. It is just a matter of re-establishing the priorities in the given situation we face, and then apply the corrective measures necessary. We are perfectly able to do that. I need to add some more about the N myth of action and observation. If one of us find ourself in a situation where we are dreaming in a territory where beeing eaten by bears is feasible... then we've improvised our process of life in a fullblown sloppy fashion. What do we do? we kill them first, then dream. Or even better: simultaneously dream and kill them. Like when philosophying while target shooting, or fixing engines and sort out my love problems, or like when I drove off the road a while ago, and in the air reflected about the irony of fixing the car for 17 years just to wreck it like that in a few seconds. Trust me: We can do lots of things, even when in grave danger. Don't underestimate N's ability in action. You don't need to micromanage neither your body nor actions all the time. Give 'em a heading and a purpose, and free your mind for other things. I have seen a few SP's downjudge my attention and hence my abilities in the initial stages when doing things, good for them if it gives them selfassurance, but I easily both outpaced, and outperformed them. Cross-emulating knowledge, deduct-deduct... abstract and induct\apply. -- ENTP-p
A65 A56:>>Without their drive for concrete gratification, we Ns would probably be eaten by bears while we dream or be too busy looking at the big picture to enjoy life in the physical realm<< No we won't. It is just a matter of reframing the priorities in the given situation and then apply the corrective measures necessary. We are perfectly able to do that. -- Anonymous
