For anyone who has seen Devil's Advocate, what were the types of each character? but particularly the two main characters? - John Milton (Pacino) and Kevin Lomax (Reeves) -- Anonymous

A1 The character of Pacino isn't human. So he's very unlikely to have human psyche. Reeves is the same type as in every movie ever since Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure -- INTp
A2 A1, you avoided the question just like a lawyer -- I wanted an answer based on the external appearances...use of tact, motives, etc. Milton seems like an ESTp to me -- lusty, good manipulator of people, well connected, suave with women, willingness to brush ethics aside, etc. and angry for not being "loved." Reeves' awful acting is besides the point. I want a way to typify Lomax (ENTp maybe?). -- Anonymous
A3 Well, a proper answer? Milton clearly has Ni as his first function, that's what his scheme is based on, and what he is most confident about. Winning to him is just matter of time and finding the right moments to influence Lomaxes life. He also sees how very small details interconnect over a very long period of time, that will force Lomax eventually to come to him. In fact his Ni is of the charts compared to any human. He's 2nd (creative) function is Se, wich makes him seem ESTp-like as you described (although ESTp's have Se as first). Ok, so at this point he already has a "type" that's impossible for a human. His 7th or 8th function is Fe, and the other is Ne. Those help him in influencing people, and finding the right people to connect with. His hidden agenda funtion seems to be Fi. But is this something he is "born" with? Or has this weakness developed over time, because the one who he has (after himself) loved most, has cast him out to Hell. If his hidden agenda was Fe, he would want everyone to love him, but that's not his goal. He might have Ti or Te as 3rd and 4th function, because his plan doesn't succeed on the first try. But this might be just because of the weak Fi, as his plan fails because of poor undertanding of relationships. Perhaps he has weaker Te, as his plan doesn't involve "hands on" approach to problems. And he just let's his plan work on it's own. I don't really remember much about Lomax. -- INTp
