Question #1175231353 | Friday, 30-Mar-2007 |
|
|
I'm an INFP. I used to be an ENFP in college many years ago. I was so excited about the things I've learned in socionics. I was very glad that there was an ideal partner for me. It is supposed to be an ESTP. But, when I read about them, I was so dissapointed. They are not the committment type and seem to be emotionally unavailable, unsupportive and heartless. I don't want somebody like that. I want to know he'll understand me, guide me and be there for me like I would with him. I'd feel too insecure and he would upset me too much. How can this be considered my dual?[Ni] -- annonymous |

A1 Maybe you are really still ENFp, and your dual is ISTp. -- Anonymous |
A2 I am an INFP too and I often disagree with the duality pairs. I would never even date an ESTP! Well maybe when I was 15. I dated ESTps back then. My dad is also an INFP, and my mom is an INTJ. The pair works very well. Funnily enough I married an INTJ and find that they have the qualities you are looking for: "I want to know he'll understand me, guide me and be there for me like I would with him." Guidance and understanding is what INFPs crave most I think, and I think INTJs are ideal to provide that. On another note, INFPs can be too idealistic, to the point where they will never be able to be satisfied with anyone. Be careful not to do that! Many types can offer what you need. Be sure not to jip yourself out of something wonderful just because it is not "ideal". You may never find that! Find a type that offers what you are looking for, and there may be a wide spectrum, not just one "ideal" type. INTJs are quite wonderful though : ) -- Anonymous |
A3 Maybe you should try ENFJ or INFJ. -- Anonymous |
