C6 I agree. ISxjs have a naturally stoical outlook on things for a reason. They have as their hidden agenda. Description of from article "Ni versus Si": "Ni seeks a path to inner space where the mind is isolated from the world, a place of clarity. Security for Ni is having inner peace from where the complexities and confusions of life have little impact. Ni must withdraw in order to cope or discover." But the uncomplicated/pure form (only as an underlying motivation) in which it appears in ISxjs does not give them much room to achieve this "inner peace." They must work slavishly in order to earn their little bit of "peace." I take it that ISxjs are the most "stoical" of all types, seldom enjoying life but always enduring it. And between the two, it would probably be the ISTj "pragmatist" who would be constantly and perhaps painfully/hyper-keenly aware of "practical reality" ... not only on what it is, but that knowing it implies fallacy (and more external world suffering -- contra-HA) in ever contradicting it. -- Anonymous |
C7 i would believe that NF are sader than most but especially if they are I(introvert, they tend to be very very pessimistic. enfj and enfp can be exclude becuase generally they have a easier life then their I counterpart. ISTJ can also be very sad becuase they tend to be very logical and very realistic and are also introvert. but overall, all sixteen type of personality can suffer from depression, Bi-polar and all type of mental illness. however if u look at it carefully the one who are more prone to sad thinking are generally truly sader. -- Anonymous

C14 Reacting to C2: Maybe I am an exception, but I am an ESFP and I really am not happy outside and sad inside, I am happy all through and if not happy, then neutral. Bet if I was sad you would recognize that at once if you saw me I can be joking outside and serious inside, but that doesnt mean I am sad. Generally, I think sadness does not depend so much on the type, it depends a lot on what a person requires from the world and if s/he gets it or not. Some types tend to require more and thus tend to be sadder if they dont get it, but generally I think it can regard any type. -- Ezis |
C15 this poll is ridiculous, anyone can be sad and people are usually saddest when things aren't going their way. so your real question should read, "which types are most likely to encounter things which will make them sad?" the obvious answer again is, all types: this is the precise reason for the existence of the hidden agenda and why interaction with one's dual can be "healing." -- Anonymous
C16 c15, you said, "which types are most likely to encounter things which will make them sad". OK let me explain a little of myself... i think i was born with genes of a enfj- then somehow around age 12 i became infj then intj then back again to enfj now. I would say that being ENFJ is alot easier than infj and intj. They are likely to get what they want as oppose to INTJ and infj where there is just so much frustration where things aren't going their way. So i do believe that some personality types are sader than other even thought the it is the same person. -- Anonymous

C22 I said INFP because they are introspective, highly intuitive to feelings in general which qould seem to mean a kind sensitive quite person who would have trouble being happy in the crude insensitive world it is these days. Probably no basis to the arguement but since None wasn't an option... -- Anonymous
C23 I think those who live sadder lives are those types of people who don't know how to cope with his/her stress. I'm an INFP, but I'm considerably more happy than my ENTJ father since I introspect more, and come to terms with the negative forces in my life, then release. My father hates his job and, most likely, his life- but his mentality is, even though he is suffering, meditating is for people who feel the need for change, and he will NEVER need changing. (Not that this is typical for all ENTJs.) Even though he and I are as different as night and day, and we don't see eye to eye; I feel pity for him rather than the contempt I used to feel. -- She the INFP
C24 INFP can also display happy more then INFJ, that's why I voted for INFJ. -- Anonymous
C25 I'm INFP and I've taken things too hard in the past. Sometimes I say things in trying to cheer others up that would indicate that I've had a lot of tough experiences, but they've only been tough because I've dwelled on how horrible they are and then felt weird or stupid for doing so because life seems to go on like nothing's wrong for others around me. While I'm at it, almost everything I write relating to personality on this site sounds like it's from an Enneagram book I first started reading more than a year ago, although I hardly refer to the book at all now. Maybe in two years, I'll have absorbed and applied socionics this way. Right now it's confusing, but appealing. -- learning
C26 It seems like everyone agrees that IN's are the most likely, as over 50% of the votes go to them. I voted for the INTJ, but it was mostly the IN that got me.... I am an INFP, so i can see how that might be the perception... but i dont think we really have it harder then everyone else.... idk... maybe -- Anonymous
C27 I somewhat agree with the other comments. However, this may only be when you put into perspective the majority of people who actually look at these pages and care enough to comment. INFp has the natural tendency to take everything directed at them personally instead of impersonally, also due to their lack of ability to fully digest information (resulting in vast consumption of information to compensate) they spend the most time at these pages, reading and thinking. Personally I'm a blend between ISTp and ISFp, so some days mean the difference between me digging into information (ISTp) and the live-and-let-live state of not feeling motivated enough to make a vote or comment (ISFp). It'd be a mistake, however, to take the approach of finding the personality type of someone and using that to base compatibility because I have a theory that people fluctuate between types depending on the situation (usually maintaining I or E, and S or N, but fluctuating F and T, and letting their p or j effect the new arrangement (hence my fluctuation). Defining depression is relative, in my opinion. Some even get pleasure from feeling depressed because it makes them feel alive. That's how I broke out of it... I accepted its presence and saw it as a beautiful sadness (ISFp) which made me feel alive, effectively using it to my benefit (ISTp). -- Shadow Poet
